TV On The Radio singer Tunde Adebimpe has just signed with the Sub Pop label to release his solo debut next year. At the moment, the name and release date of the project are unknown. However, we can enjoy the frenetic first single, ‘Magnetic’.
News of Adebimpe’s solo career comes as TV On The Radio hits the road again after a long hiatus. In addition to concerts in the United States and the United Kingdom, they are part of the Primavera Sound lineup, which will take place in Barcelona from June 5 to 7, 2025.
“I was thinking about my time in space / I was thinking about the human race,” Adebimpe sings in the opening lines of ‘Magnetic.’ This is the American singer’s first formal solo release, since in 2010 he released ‘People’ for charitable causes.
From Sub Pop, they assure that the inclusion of Adebimpe in the team “makes everything better and much more elegant”: “We have waited more than 20 years to have the opportunity to be Tunde Adebimpe’s label,” declared the co-founder of Sub Pop , Jonathan Poneman.
