The group performed it as a tribute to the unfortunately deceased Gary “Mani” Mounfield, bassist of The Stone Roses and Primal Scream. “It seemed like the perfect time to honor him,” explained guitarist Meg Mills. Now the news is that the group has performed it for the first time in concert. It was yesterday in Halifax (Canada), at a concert in which they also paid tribute to the recently deceased Dolly Parton, recovering part of her song “Islands In The Stream”, which the country singer recorded at the time with Kenny Rogers, another legend of the genre.
