Trentemøller previews new album with single “Terrified”

The Danish artist Trentemøller has unexpectedly released a new single, “Terrified”, a song that serves as a preview of what will be their next full-length.

The Danish artist’s next album will be released on November 13, but we still don’t know the title. What we do know is that it will maintain the usual coordinates of its latest movements. Now, in their own words, it is possibly the most pop song on the entire album.

“Terrified” is one of the ten songs that will be part of an album that will combine bright moments with darker ones. About this piece in particular, Jonas Bjerre, singer of the song and also vocalist of the band Mew, comments: “I think that sometimes, when you dream about things that scare you or make you uneasy, it is your mind that is really trying to prepare you for any possible scenario; a way of processing catastrophes that have never happened and that may never happen.”

For his part, Trentemøller remembers how he transformed the song during the production process: “Terrified” is “probably the most poppy song on the album. In its original version it sounded much more shoegaze, but I wanted it to be sharper and more defined, less diffuse. That’s why I opted for synths that almost seem like human voices, with a magical, otherworldly quality.”

Accompanying the song we have a video clip produced by Jonas Bjerre himself, who is usually in charge of live screenings of his band, the aforementioned Mew.
