One of the big names of the post-rock, although his proposal always goes further, Tortoisewill have a new album. It will be the first in almost a decade.
In 2016, Tortoise published “The catastrophist”an album after which we have not had news at the band’s record level, a formation always capable of combining experimentation with very clear identity signs, capable of combining post-rock, post-harsh, jazz and many genres, taking them to their own terrero.
Now they have shared the theme “Oganesson”, a piece that is very close to experimental jazz and has been recorded by a formation that includes Jeff Parker On the guitar, to Dan Bitney In synthesizers, Doug McCombs bass, John Herndon to percussions and John Mcentire to the battery.
“Oganesson” has been recorded in studies of Los Angeles, Chicago and Portland by Mcentire and mixed in Soma Electronic Music Studiosin Gladstone. The new album, still without a title, will see the light at the end of this year.
