Tortoise will publish your first album in 9 years on November 11. His last work was ‘The Catastrophist’ in 2016. The new length will be called ‘Touch’, and the single that we can listen to today is ‘Layered Comsence’.
His seal explains that the unclassifiable experimental group, known for works such as ‘TNT’ (1998), has created the album collectively. Of course, they all live together in an loft as in the late 90s, but have done so since their respective cities of residence: La, Portland and Chicago.
In the album we will find everything: «Krautrock aerodynamically redesigned, rave rhythms techno to crank and pointillistaus of spaghetti western (…) an internal logic as attractive as disconcerting, a puzzle to savor instead of solving».
‘Touch’ will include a theme released last year called ‘Oganesson’, which launched several remixes, such as that of the poet and activist Saul Williams, Masterization Engineer Heba Kadry, Black’s drummer Keys Patrick Playy, Broken Social Scene and his partner in the International Seal Anthem, Makaya McCraven.
This will be the album tracklist:
01 Vexations
02 Layered witnesses
03 Works and Days
04 Elka
05 Promenade à Deux
06 Seamount axial
07 A Title Comes
08 RATED OG
