The American artist based in Barcelona Tori Sparks come back with “Cabinet of Curiosities”. A new project that marks his recording return after almost a decade and that will be completed in five EPs.
The first volume of “Cabinet of Curiosities” will see the light April 17, and will mark the beginning of their eighth album. In addition, it is her first studio recording since 2017. The artist presents an album far from conventional, divided into five volumes that will add up to a total of twenty-one songs in which the American will move between different musical genres.
Each part will be based on a different style. With sounds like blues, gospel, folk, rock or soul, among others. In this way, Sparks reaffirms his versatility and artistic evolution. The concept of the project was born from the old “cabinets of curiosities”. Through this idea, the artist builds a musical metaphor about the current world. The songs address topics such as love, faith, politics or mortality.
The first three chapters will be released between April and June. While the last two will do so in September and October. The first volume will be presented live on April 29 at the Teatre de Sarrià. It will not be a conventional concert, but a special staging of the project. What we will hear soon from the artist will allow us to enter worlds in which both the chaos and the beauty of the current moment will be reflected.
