Tokischa is starting strong with the promotion of his recently announced album ‘Amor y drug’, at least in Spain. Christian Lawyers has filed a lawsuit against the Dominican rapper before the Court of Instance of Donostia for an alleged crime of desecration, reports El Diario, after the artist posed topless inside the San Sebastian basilica of Santa María del Coro.
The images, according to Christian Lawyers, of “high sexual content”, correspond to a short film by Tokischa and “evidence the premeditation and conscious use of a Catholic temple for commercial and exhibition purposes, distorting its religious meaning.”
The statement from Christian Lawyers describes that Tokischa, in the photo, appears “semi-naked – topless and wearing only an intimate garment (thong) – and poses provocatively inside the temple”, specifically in front of an image of Jesus Christ, “using the sacred space as an erotic setting completely unrelated to religious worship.”
The writing indicates that “the events have had great public significance, which has generated deep indignation and offense in the community of Catholic faithful, both in the city of San Sebastián and in the rest of Spain.”
The snapshot published by Tokischa five days ago on her Instagram account, which probably not many would have noticed if it had not been for Christian Lawyers, was accompanied by a message from the artist about her relationship with religion: «My relationship is with God, not with religion. God accepts me as I am, created me, does not judge me, allows me to learn from my mistakes and find the truth for myself; It is Love, pure, unconditional,” he writes.
