Three new musical activities at Tarek Atoui exhibition

Prado Luz, Clara Brea and Azu Tiwaline next to Cinna Peyghamy They propose three suggestive sound interventions that will take place in April and May, within the framework of the exhibition “AT-Tāriq. A trip to the rural musical traditions of North Africa and the Arab world” of Tarek Atoui.

Organizes them TBA21 Foundationwith the narrow collaboration of Mondo Sonoro. Access is free, but requires record on the website of the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum.

Activities complement the exhibition of the Franco-Liban musician Tarek Atoui: A fascinating project that leads the visitor to the heart of the ancestral sounds of the Moroccan Atlas in which the people of the Amazight lives. An installation with objects in the area and disseminated speakers issuing traditional music and composed of Atoui himself, immerses us on a sensation trip. The goal is to get us out of the worldly noise towards the field of instrospective and transcendent reflection.

The actions are as follows: the April 13 There will be a triple listening session guided by the violinist and performer Luz Prado. The idea is that the visitor pays attention to the more subtle and delicate nuances of the installation. It will be at the -1 plant where the exhibition is installed, with three passes at 12 noon, 12: 20h and 12: 40h.

He April 27 At 12pm Clara Brea will propose in the same space an electronic intervention of the sound landscape of the exhibition, based on the use of Atoui concert recordings, but reconfiguring them to their language.

And the May 17 At 12pm, in the same place, there will be a DJ session in charge of musicians Azu Tiwaline and Cinna Peyghamy. Both share their interest in trance sounds with Tarek, and will establish a polyrhythmic sound language with the environmental sounds of the exposure.

To celebrate the beginning of its installation, Tarek Atoui offered a hypnotic concert accompanied by a group of Amazight musicians and several collaborators of the electronic scene in the Florida Park.
