Thom Yorke and Mark Pritchard will release their movie in Spain

Thom Yorke and Mark Pritchard publish their joint album, ‘Tall Tales’, on May 9. ‘Tall tales’ has presented with the singles ‘Back in the game’, ‘This conversation is missing your voice’ and, on April 9, ‘Gangsters’.

The launch of ‘Tall Tales’ will be accompanied by a film directed by Jonathan Zawada that will be released in cinemas around the world. In Spain, the projection can be seen exclusively at the Phenomena Experience cinema in Barcelona on May 9 from 8 pm, thanks to the collaboration of Spring Sound and looks festival. All info, here.

“The attendees of this unique event in Barcelona,” explains the official information, “will be the first to immerse themselves in this modern fable devised by this creative triumvirate, a dreamlike universe where the warm echoes of the synthesizers of the 70s and the surrounding landscapes are melted with images that travel between a disturbing future and a magical timelessness. The cinematographic narrative of Tall Tales promises to enter unexplored territories, challenging conventions and expanding the limits of audiovisual experience as such.

‘Gangsters’ continues the promise of the influence of the Kraut in ‘Tall Tales’ and crosses it with another reference cited in the press release, that of Joe Meek, whose visionary ‘I Hear a New World’ of 1960 remembers ‘gangsters’ in elements such as vocal production and atmospheres.

‘Tall Tales’ will be another reflection of Thom Yorke on the modern world accompanied by Mark Pritchard’s futuristic production. Touring other sounds such as Prog, Synth-Pop or Library Music, Yorke and Pritchard will examine the technology impact on human existence. «TALL is presented as a fairy tale for the contemporary era, an artistic statement that invites reflection on progress and rediscover the transcendent power of art. The work raises a reflection on technology and its impact on our existence, where computers, initially conceived for accounting, today try to paint our images and sing our songs, thanks to the arrival of artificial intelligence. A technological fable that, like the best stories, balances light and darkness, with the reverberant choirs of Thom Yorke intertwining with the brilliant electronics of Mark Pritchard and the imaginary specially created by Jonathan Zawada ».
