Among the artists who have released new music in recent days is Amaral, who continues to reveal the content of his next album, which has not yet been formally announced. According to CadenaDial, it will be released “before the end of 2024.”
After the surprising first single, ‘Rompehielos’, which stands out for its reggae influence and its use of metals, Amaral has released ‘Ahí estás’, actually the first of those new songs that were premiered live, a year ago.
In ‘Ahí estás’ Amaral shows his most American side; it is a composition very influenced by the heartland rock sound typical of the United States. ‘Ahí estás’ begins with a piano chord that refers to ‘Clocks’ by Coldplay, but soon begins a long road trip. From the peace of acoustic guitars, ‘Ahí estás’ moves to the energy of electric guitars, in its emotional crescendo.
On this journey, Eva and Juan are accompanied by the character to whom the lyrics are dedicated, a “stunning” and at the same time “unbreakable” woman whom Amaral seeks to protect “from people and their stupid way of judging.” A person who is also unclassifiable, whom Amaral compares to great historical figures such as Princess Leia and Karl Marx.
In the words of the press release, ‘Ahí estás’ is “an unclassifiable declaration of love” and also “an open-hearted confession: wherever you are, heaven or hell, our bonds will always live beyond, in the depths of my mind.”
