The XI Ruido Prize announces its finalists for National Record of the Year

He XI Noise Award announces its finalists National Record of the Year. A total of twelve albums that have marked the country’s musical news for different reasons.

PAM (Associated Music Journalists), the association that integrates more than three hundred music information professionals in our country, has announced the list of the twelve finalists to compete for the Ruido Award.

The next Thursday March 12 will be held at the Berlanga Room in Madrid the 11th Edition of this award, which recognizes the Best Spanish Record of the Year, where talent and creativity prevail regardless of sales, playlists, algorithms and bots.

The award has been coming from PAM for 11 years, as a way to make the profession visible at a delicate time for the sector, and for journalism in general. More than seventy accredited music journalists – which represents a historical record of participation – have voted in this first phase.

Now PAM members will vote again independently to choose the winning album, which will be unveiled at the gala on March 12, following exclusively artistic criteria. Among the nominees are genres such as pop, rock, electronic, shoegaze, flamenco, indie or hardcore.

The twelve nominated albums are:

– Amaia “If I open my eyes it’s not real” (Universal Music)
– Carlos Ares “The Wolf’s Mouth” (BMG)
– Open Front “War on all that” (Universal)
– FUET! “Make It Happen” (Dungeon Study)
– Guitarricadelafuente “Spanish Leather” (Sony Music)
