The Weeknd previews the final chapter of his musical trilogy

The Weeknd titles his next album ‘Hurry Up, Tomorrow’

The Weeknd is preparing the final album of his personal trilogy, after ‘After Hours’ and ‘Dawn FM’. Throughout the summer, Abel Tesfaye has released several teasers, some of them showing new music, and announcing a “one-off” show in Brazil. Back in September, he revealed that the title of the album will be ‘Hurry Up, Tomorrow’. Let’s hope it sounds like something from the future.

The new teaser insists that this episode is the third and final one, armed with the existential and self-referential themes we’ve seen in the other two chapters. The Sao Paolo concert is this Saturday, September 7, so there’s likely to be more news very soon.

The Weeknd also shared a snippet of a new song that some fans are suggesting might be titled ‘Hold Your Heart’ and features Abel in the form of a little boy, hinting at some sort of rebirth. If you suffer from epilepsy and want to watch the teaser, beware of the first few seconds.

The song continues the synthpop style that The Weeknd has adopted in his last two releases. The snippet is also presented with a quote from Nietzsche, which goes like this: “When you gaze for a long time into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.”

The São Paulo concert is expected to feature a “never-before-seen production.” The artist also said that the show will have “three chapters,” indicating a possible debut of new live music.
