From August 6 to 9, the festival cycle Sierra Sonora returns to Viniegra de Abajo to celebrate its most powerful edition, the summer one.
Sierra Sonora returns this summer to turn Viniegra de Abajo into one of the most unique musical stages of the summer. From August 5 to 9, the small municipality in the Rioja mountains will celebrate the 25th edition of a project that has built its own identity around music, landscape and coexistence, and that faces its last days of sale with 90% of the capacity full.
The poster for this edition brings together Iseo & Dodosound, Rufus T. Firefly, Repion and The Crumbsalong with proposals such as Tu Otra Bonita, Ana Lua Caiano, El Nido, Olatz Salvador, Ezezez, De Fem, Casapalma, Honahlei and Paco Sin. A program that moves through styles such as rock, pop, electronica and roots music, combining established names, new scenes and national and international projects.
The festival proposes a different way of experiencing live music. The concerts are distributed among gardens, patios, squares and a natural area next to the river, integrating the stages into the town itself and favoring an especially close relationship between artists, public and inhabitants. The experience is completed with free proposals, DJ sessions, theater, contemporary art and activities related to memory, landscape and rural identity. Although the summer edition is the largest event within the annual cycle, it maintains the closeness and community character that have defined the project since its beginnings.
