This May marks the eighteenth edition of Sound City (Liverpool)international showcase through which artists from different parts of the world pass. The Spanish Wave takes four names from our scene there.
The next few days May 1, 2 and 3 One of the most important events for emerging bands in the United Kingdom, which this time celebrates eighteen years, will take place in Liverpool. In this year’s poster we can see artists like Jalen Ngonda, Keo, The Molotovs, Brooke Combe, MT Jones and many others.
But the important news is that The Spanish Wave, in collaboration with Desdemona records, Fly records, Big Music, Subterfuge Records, Institut D´Estudis Balearics, AIE, Fundación SGAE, Ticketmaster New Music, Live Nation España, Mahou, Valencia Music Office, Amplead, radio 3 and Mondo Sonoro, will bring four interesting names from the new Spanish scene to the city of The Beatles.
And what are these four names that will pass through Sound City? Well, the Madrid indies Vicente Calderonthe Mallorcan power pop quintet The Ripplesthe Valencians The Liquorice Experiment and the Barcelonans Panama. The latter come from participating with The Spanish Wave in the American festivals The New Colossus (New York) and SXSW (Austin, Tx) this 2026.
On the other hand, and as is usual, The Spanish Wave will also organize the official reception Meet The Spaniards! at Spanish Caravan, a venue located on Slater Street, in the center of Liverpool. A party will be held there on Sunday, May 3, in the evening.
In addition to the showcases, the event has an avenue that is Sound City Forum, a conference with a full-day program of round tables, seminars, workshops and showcases, with emerging or more experienced artists. The Spanish Wave always participates in them as well.

The Spanish Wave is a project for the internationalization of Spanish talent that aims to help export emerging artists and bands from our country, participating with “showcases” in the most important fairs, festivals and musical events in the world, with the presence of professionals from the national and international industry.
