The Smile cancel tour due to Jonny Greenwood’s illness

Kalorama has announced via its social media that The Smile has been cancelled as well as the show that Jonny Greenwood was going to do with Dudu Tassa. The festival is going ahead with shows by Fever Ray, Gossip, Yves Tumor, Overmono, LCD Soundsystem, The Prodigy, The Postal Service with Death Cab for Cutie, RAYE, etc. They will perform at the end of August at IFEMA, Madrid.

These were the words of the festival: «We regret to announce the cancellation of The Smile concert due to Jonny Greenwood’s health problems. We wish him a speedy recovery.» And here is the band’s statement:

«A few days ago, Jonny became seriously ill with an infection that required urgent hospital treatment, part of which was in intensive care. Fortunately, he is now out of danger and will soon return home. The medical team in charge of Jonny’s care has ordered us to cancel all engagements until he has had time to fully recover. To this end, The Smile’s tour in Europe is cancelled.»
