The Smile, the group formed by Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, and Tom Skinner of Sons of Kemmet, has announced a new date in Spain. On August 28, The Smile will offer a concert at the Jardines de Viveros in Valencia. DJ and producer James Holden will serve as guest artist. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 12.
On this -for now- only date of The Smile in Spain, the group will be presenting their new album, ‘Wall of Eyes’, which goes on sale on January 26. The Smile have unveiled ‘Wall of Eyes’ with the singles ‘Friend of a Friend’, ‘Wall of Eyes’ and ‘Bending Hectic’.
The Smile will be presenting ‘Wall of Eyes’ in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium or Denmark during the month of March. Then, in June, the tour will pass through Germany, Greece or the Czech Republic and, in August, in addition to Spain, it will stop in Norway, Austria, France or Portugal. All The Smile tour dates are available on their website.
‘A Light for Attracting Attention’, The Smile’s official debut, came out in 2021 and could be seen live, for example, at Primavera Sound.
As for Radiohead, it doesn’t seem like the group will be releasing new material in the near future. In 2023 three decades have passed since the birth of the band. At JENESAISPOP we celebrate the anniversary by talking about the group in an episode of the Revelación o timo podcast.
