Youth, Big Love, Pussycat, Ona Mafalda, The Crab Apples, Victories and Speaker Cabinets among those selected from the edition #GPS 16 of the cycle Turning Through Rooms.
A total of thirty-four groups and soloistsof various styles (pop, rock, urban, jazz, folk, roots music, funk, soul, electronic rock, miscegenation, hard rock, fusion, rhythm & blues, author song…), are those selected for the #GPS16 edition of Girando Por Salas, an initiative of the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM) of the Ministry of Culture, with the Coordinating Federation of the Popular Music Circuit (FCMP) being a collaborating entity, formed by the following professional associations: ACCES (State Association of Live Music Venues), APM (Association of Musical Promoters), ARC (Associació de Representatives, Promotors i Managers de Catalunya), ARTE (Association of Technical Representatives of Entertainment), MUSICAT (Associació Professional de Músics de Catalunya), PROMUSICAE (Music Producers of Spain) and UFI (Phonographic Union Independent).
The list of artists is made up of: Antía Muíño, Awakate, Baja California, Bigblack Rhino, Delacave, Sweet, The Child Lord.Cah, The Hated Word, Walloon Arrow, gale, Big Love, Sister Fury, Romantic Hurricane, Jassy Ojeda, Javi Chapela, Youth, Kike M, The 126, Lero, Lluis Sanchez, The Holly Trees, Mellifluous, Pussycat, Ona Mafalda, Pandorado, Paula Koops, Ramblaya, Stream, Speaker Cabinets, The Crab Apples, Shark, Txeih Jazz Factory, Victories and wise.
These thirty-four artists, selected from among those of the six hundred and eighty-nine approved who met the rules of the call among a total of seven hundred and forty-four registered, will receive aid for holding concerts within the venue circuit throughout the Spanish territory as a promotion of the most lively expression of popular music. These concerts (for the development of which more than two hundred venues throughout the country have already registered) will be held outside the Autonomous Community of residence of each artist or a minimum of 300 km within it. This aims to promote emerging musical talents and their dissemination beyond their natural sphere of influence, as well as encourage their professionalization. Likewise, artists will receive aid for the production and promotion of their works, thereby enhancing both record production and the stability of the live music venue circuit.
In addition to the votes cast by all the representatives of the jury, the public, through the Girando Por Salas websitewas able to vote for his favorite bands and soloists and the twenty most voted had an extra vote to add to those that the selection committee can grant them. Of the thirty-four selected, six have had the support of the popular vote.
