The Navarrese festival SantasEaster will offer, as is tradition, more than fifteen musical performances, among other activities, during Christmas.
We already know the programming of the ninth edition of the festivalSantasEasterwhich is presented as one of the most important both for its quality and its musical variety. The festival has become one of the most prominent in the region, offering an incomparable cultural offer during Christmas, and with names such as Primal Scream, Rosalía, Maika Makovsky, Juan Perro, Chill Mafia, El Columpio Asesino, León Benavente, Yung Beef, María José Llergo or María Arnal and Marcel Vagés, among many others.
In this edition, current and veteran projects that are giving a lot of talk at the state level, as well as notable local projects, are added again. The starting signal is given this coming weekend with the presentation party that will feature performances by Dorian and The Jaguars of the Bay on Friday in the Zentral room and 107 Fauns and Cold Jane Sunday in Txintxarri in musical vermouth format. And starting on the 25th you can enjoy the concerts of Los Planetas, Alcalá Norte, Carlangas, Nudozurdo, Albert Plá, Chill Mafia, Melenas, Juárez, Marte Lasarte…up to a total of thirteen bands.
On the other hand, Civican will host an exhibition BritPop 1987-2011as well as workshops and conferences. The exhibition is an approach to one of the most important eras of the British music scene told first-hand by two of its main protagonists:Alan McGeeFounder of the Creation Records and Poptones label, discovered artists such as Primal Scream, Oasis, My Blody Valentines, The Libertines, among others; and Mike SmithA&R at MCA and discoverer of bands like Blur, Leviation or Smashing Pumpkins. Global President of Downtown Music Publishing and Managing Director of Warner/Chapell Music UK. In addition to the talks by these protagonists, there will be two educational workshops given by Al Macaulay (musician, teacher and founder of the British band TinderSticks) with these themes: “Found your own BritPop band”, focused on marketing, communication, design and strategy for new artists, and “Create your own BritPop anthem”, in which with computers and mobile phones we will be able to create and understand the key ingredients of BritPop, paying special attention to the instruments, musical arrangements and lyrics of the movement.
Likewise, there will be a plastic exhibition of oil paintings on canvas made by Mike Smith in his years of maximum professional activity in which he portrayed the main singers and artists of the BritPop movement, and a live concert by the English band 3Head.
