The professional days of Fira B!, about to begin

The musical part of Fira B! It’s about to start. The tenth edition of the professional music and performing arts market of the Balearic Islands will begin tomorrow, November 6, and will end next Saturday, November 8. At JENESAISPOP we have already made a selection of the 6 performances that you cannot miss, but that is not all that the event offers.

The main objective of publicizing the most recent and representative creations of the Balearic Islands is complemented by the Fira B! Professional Conferences. PRO. These are a meeting point between specialized professionals in the sector and creators from the world of music and performing arts. Like tickets to the concerts, registration is free.

Friday, November 7

The Maruja Alfaro Municipal Theater, where these sessions will take place, will receive its first presentation on Friday the 7th at 10 a.m. Like all of them, this one will last 50 minutes: ‘How to expand your fan base? How do you interact with the fans you have?’. It will be moderated by Ruth Fisher, who has over 20 years’ experience as a radio presenter on Jazz FM, the UK’s leading jazz station.

Chris Blackmore (Founder of Holy Smokes Records), Eloisa Mendez (EM Musical Marketing), Lorena Montón (Musical Journalist for La Vanguardia, RTVE and RNE) and Fran Leo (Project Manager at Subterfuge Records) will participate in the talk.

On the same Friday you can also enjoy the showcases of Anna Colom and Two Little Rooms, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively. One hour before the folk and psychedelic pop duo, at 12 noon, the second presentation of the day will take place, in which the ‘Relevance of Music Conferences’ under the moderation of Arlette Hovinga, from That Jazz Girl.

The presentations will come from the hand of Xavier Barceló (Supervisor of Fira B!), Lizon Lavaud (Centre National de la Musique), Dino Lupelli (Music Innovation Hub) and Oskar Strajn (Eurosonic Noorderslag).

Saturday November 8

The day of Saturday 8 November will begin directly at 10 a.m. with one of the most interesting talks at Fira B! PRO, in which they will ask themselves a simple question: ‘What profiles of artists are successful today?’. Chris Phillips, who has more than 40 years of experience playing jazz on London radio, will moderate.

On the other hand, the panel of speakers will be made up of Alexandra Benvides Idiart (CBC-Radio Canada), Joan Vich (Director of Ground Control Management and discoverer of Hinds), Sam Gill (Earth Agency) and Ivone Lesan (Booking at Primavera Sound).

On this last day, When the robing sings and Anouck will present their showcases at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. In between, at 11:30 a.m., the last professional conversation of Fira B! will take place, which will also take place in Spanish: ‘How to build audiences for spaces and festivals’.

The journalist Marta Terrasa will lead a talk that will feature the experience of David Valle (Club Mutante and Festival Mutante), Curro Caravaca (Mallorca Live Festival), Toni Jaume (Mobo Fest) and Marina Fernández (Plataforma Jazz España).
