The Americans The Postal Service celebrate the final part of their European tour –with stops in Madrid and Barcelona– by sharing a new remix of their hit “The District Sleeps Alone Tonight”, in this case the work of Sylvan Esso.
The North Carolina duo Sylvan Esso joins the list of artists who have remixed some of the songs from that great electronic pop album that is “Give Up” (03) of The Postal Servicethe duo that in turn forms the electronic artist Jimmy Tamborello (Dntel) and Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie). The remix focuses on clicks’n’cuts electronics that give the original song a new feel.
The remix has been officially released to celebrate the final stretch of the European tour in which The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie commemorate the twenty years of two essential albums such as the aforementioned. “Give Up” and the fundamental “Transatlanticism” from the band led by Ben Gibbard. The same line-up tackles the songs from both albums, authentic classics in their own right, and takes them to the place they deserve in a ceremony that their fans will be grateful for.
After passing through the British cities of Glasgow, Cardiff and London, the tour will pass through our country –with The Kills as special guests – to perform at Barcelona (Tuesday, August 27, Poble Espanyol) and Madrid (Thursday, August 29, Kalorama Madrid)The next day, Friday, August 30, they will be in the Portuguese edition of the Kalorama, Meo Kalorama, in LisbonThe tour has already attracted more than two hundred and fifty thousand people. You can get the tickets at these links: Barcelona and Madrid.
