Rufus T. Firefly release their 'Peace Song' and announce tour with headphones

Music news

‘The Plaza’ is the indie-pop pills of Rufus T. Firefly

Rufus T. Firefly continues the promotion of its next album, ‘All good things’, which is published on a date to be determined by April. ‘Song of Peace’, the first advance, has been surprising for its approximation to Bossa Nova. The second, ‘The Plaza’, renews the sound of the Aranjuez band pulling very different influences.

‘The square’ is a song of pure indie-pop, accessible, immediate and luminous as very few songs by Rufus T. Firefly have been. If you visit ‘The Plaza’ to find a psychedelic layer that remitting you to the early work of the Rufus, good luck.

But, in this purification of its sound, Rufus T. Firefly gets one of his best songs. The style of ‘The Plaza’ leads to influences – cited in the press release – of the Smiths or the ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ cure. Looking at the 21st century, the memory of the Real Estate of ‘Days’ (2011) is inevitable (conscious or not). Víctor Cabezuelo is not blind to writing another of his elegant melodies.

Loaded with melancholy, ‘The Plaza’ is another of those songs by Rufus T. Firefly written in the third person who portray, more or less idealistic, a female figure. The song “speaks, with admiration, of someone who, despite the adversity and the continuous blows of life, manages to make strength to move forward, crossing the square day after day.” The protagonist of ‘The Plaza’ is so brave that “not even the devil is going to stand up,” and so completely that, although “we all have a soul to sell,” she “will not.”

The tour with headphones of ‘All good things’ continues from this Sunday in the following cities:
March 30, Zamora
April 3, Barcelona
April 4, La Laguna
April 5, Lanzarote
April 10, Valencia
April 19, San Vicente Do Mar
