The Min awards They were held yesterday in Madrid and rewarded artists of the most diverse with Alcalá Norte as great winners of the evening with four awards.

The XVII edition of the Min awards, organized by the Independent Phonographic Union (UFI), were held last night in the Great CaixaBank Theater Prince Pío de Madrid. There were more than a thousand guests from the Spanish independent music industry, live performances and a fun presentation by Paula Vázquez. As for concerts, they went through the stage Marlena, Hinds, Carlos Ares, Alcalá Norte, Metrika and Figa Flawas.

To begin with, we must quote the Madrid Alcalá Nortegreat winners of the edition when taking the prize Onerpm to album of the year, Radio 3 Award to Song of the Year (For “Life Canyon”)Johnnie Walker Prize for Best Emerging Artist and Min Prize for Best Rock Album. We could continue with Carlos Ares (Min Prize for Best Pop Album for “Pilgrim”), Biznaga (Aie for Best Artist), Lia Kali (Best Recording of Urban Musics), Claraguilar (Best Electronics Recording), Reena Tart (Best Root Music Album), Perrate and Za! (Best Flamenco album), and Gorka Urbizu (best album in Basque). He Merlin Award Best international artist was for Fontaines DCwhile the public prize fell to Cepeda.

There was also a very emotional delivery with the Mario Pacheco Honor Award to Som Valenciain recognition of his extraordinary solidarity work during the Dana that affected the Valencian Community. This musical and cultural group mobilized more than two hundred professionals and almost five hundred artists in an event that raised about half a million euros for the Horta Sud Foundation. Louise Sansom, director of Hidden Track Records and promoter of the project, collected the award.

The UFI wanted to especially thank the support of the main sponsors: Johnnie Walker, Ticketmaster, Oonerpm and Angedi, as well as the collaborators Fundación SGAE, Merlin, Alhambra beers, Sae Institute Spain, Aie, Marilians, Sonqo, Community of Madrid and INAEM. The work of the official and cooperating media such as Radio 3, Mondo Sonoro, Dod Magazine and Jenesaispop has also been recognized, for giving voice to independent music in all its forms.
