The Mallorcan scene pays tribute to The Cure in “Mallorca Love Cats”

The independent music scene of Mallorca has decided to pay a special tribute to the British band The Cure. The double disc “Mallorca Love Cats. “With The Cure” includes up to twenty-five versions.

“Mallorca Love Cats. With The Cure” is the result of this tribute, a double project that brings together twenty-five versions of songs by The Cure performed by Mallorcan bands and whose adaptations – some in Mallorcan – are accompanied by twenty-three illustrations signed by local artists. You can find all this in this deluxe double CD book. Those responsible present the project like this: “It all started when José Manuel had the idea, after repeatedly listening to versions of the song ‘A Forest’. He quickly contacted Pinxo from Espora Records and Jonatán from Discos Polo, and together they began working on this tribute. Very soon, twenty-five bands from the Mallorcan scene came together to record their own versions of iconic songs by The Cure.”

The bands that have participated in the album are: Stickers, Alberto Petröleo, Astrolabio, Bilo, El Día Eléctrico, Goodfellows, Gran Amant, Iuripuskas, Jane Yo, Jorra Santiago, Los Amigos de Mari Rae, Los Bélmez, Los Malditos, Los Ritmos Salvajes, Marlovers, Primera Mort, Frozen Products, Psiconautas, Talleres Molina, The Cicely Satellites, The Pression, The T-Makers, Three Pieces, Xatarreo and Yoko Factor.

You can get the double album in pre-sale at this same link.
