After going through festivals like the Barcelona In-Editthe documentary about the American singer Cyndi Lauper“,”“Let The Canary Sing”will arrive on platforms this coming June.
The composer and pop icon Cyndi Lauper will see his documentary officially distributed “Let The Canary Sing”, which explains the impact his music has had over the years. Besides, Paramount+ has published the trailer and has confirmed that the release date on the platform will be for June 4 in the United States and Canada. In many other countries it will be released a day later, the 5th June.
The documentary offers a look at the career and legacy of the iconic author of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” or “Time After Time”, and does so through different interviews from Lauper herself or videos archived throughout his career. Besides, “Let The Canary Sing” includes interviews from people such as the British singer Boy George or the American singer Patti LaBelle, among others. The documentary also includes her activism, the fight for women's rights and the Queer rights that the singer has claimed over the years.
The documentary was directed by the Australian producer and director Alison Ellwood. On the other hand, Cyndi Lauper will give an exclusive performance with her most memorable hits at the Royal Albert Hall (London) on June 26th, this being his first solo performance in the United Kingdom for eight years.
