Music news

The Cure’s drip feed continues: single out this Thursday

The Cure are pushing hard to get to the announcement of their new album, which has yet to be officially announced. Fans and media outlets have started receiving black cards with the album title, ‘Songs of a Lost World’, and a date engraved in Roman numerals, November 1st. There is no confirmation that The Cure’s first album in 16 years will be released on that day, either from the band or from their label, but a word to the wise is enough.

During the promotion of ‘Songs of a Lost World’ a WhatsApp number has also been provided in which The Cure is sharing glimpses of this highly anticipated work.

But the wait is over and this week the first preview of ‘Songs of a Lost World’ is finally released. ‘Alone’ is one of the new songs that The Cure have played on their latest tour, and the official version will be heard for the first time this Thursday, September 26. BBC 6 will play ‘Alone’ that day at 12 noon UK time, 13 Spanish time. The Cure have already shared a preview of ‘Alone’ on their social networks. It is expected that ‘Songs of a Lost World’ will be officially announced that day or on Friday along with all the details: cover, title, tracklist, in short, all the information that The Cure fans have been waiting for years.
