The Baboon Show headline Hiriko Soinuak 2026 festival

On October 23 and 24, the Herriko Plaza in Barakaldo will host the eighth edition of the free festival Hiriko Soinuak.

The eighth edition of the Hiriko Soinuak festival will be held on October 23 and 24 at the Herriko Plaza in Barakaldo, with free admission, and with its usual format that combines renowned bands from the state and Basque scene, and the winners of the local band contest. The Baboon Show, Toundra, Long live Belgrade and New Catholic Catechism They will be the main names of the programming that will be completed with the four winning projects of the contest.

After a 2025 edition that featured bands like Reincidentes, Biznaga, Bala or Sandré, Hiriko Soinuak presents this year a juicy lineup distributed as follows: on Friday the 23rd they will take the stage Toundra and Long live Belgradewhile on Saturday the 24th it will be the turn of The Baboon Show and New Catholic Catechism.

Formed in Stockholm in 2003, The Baboon Show have become one of the most recognized bands in European punk-rock thanks to a spectacular live performance that has taken them to festivals such as Wacken, Hellfest, Resurrection Fest or Rebellion.

For his part, Toundra will arrive in Barakaldo with his new job, “Seven”reaffirming a trajectory that has placed them among the reference names of post-rock and state instrumental metal. They will also present new Long live Belgradewho will precisely publish their fifth album on October 23, “While the Guadalquivir flows and flows and flows”. The album brings together eleven songs produced by Ricky Falkner and already has previews such as “Un andalucito más” and “Súper Future”.

The final poster will also feature the four winning projects of Hiriko Soinuak 2026, whose names will be known after the final of the competition, scheduled for Saturday, September 26 in San Bizente Park in Barakaldo.

The forecast is that the concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. on both days, as in previous editions, but the exact times of each performance will be announced later.
