Not only does Joseluis are recovering the indie guitars of the nineties on his first album. Before him, the awkward moment – the project of Madrid’s Malena Fernández – has explored that same sound in his debut, ‘I am aware’, who has linked its sound with Mitski’s, an artist who – in a way nothing casual – is mentioned in the single ‘I am in love with you’.
In 2025, the awkward moment is publishing a series of loose singles and one of them, the great ‘there is a hole under your bed and is full of shit’, it has been a song of the day in Jenesaispop. Today we assign this same title to the new Single of Fernández, ‘an orderly fourth’.
Malena says that ‘A Ordered Fourth’ is the song “More intimate in this series of songs that I have taken for the year.” This intimacy is transmitted through the image of an orderly room, which comes to symbolize a clarity of ideas. In that clean, neat and organized environment, Malena is finally able to reflect on a person who is no longer part of his life: “If one day you decide to return, I hope you do not find a better place than you know,” he sings. The electric guitars twinkle and then roar like in a song by Sonic Youth or the first Radiohead.
The awkward moment has promoted ‘a room ordered’ with a video clip made in Stop Motion with plasticine figures, created by Pablo Huici, Diego Cárdenas and Malena Fernández herself. It is an adorable and colorful visual accompaniment for the song.
We remind you that the awkward moment is one of the names confirmed in the next edition of Mallorca Live, which is celebrated next week. Touch on Friday, June 13 at 22.15.
