Viña Rock has revealed the poster for its 2025 edition, which has been far from being equal, as if there were no rock girls in Spain, anywhere. Of 35 confirmed names, only four are women, these are, Xana Lavey, singer of Mägo de Oz; María José Luna, singer of Califato 3/4; Grex and Maria Astallé, who plays trombone in Ítaca Band.
Mägo de Oz is the only headliner with at least one woman in its ranks. The majority of confirmations are made up of groups made up exclusively of male members. Some include a dozen of them, like La Raíz; others are quartets, like Boikot; other duos, like La Élite, and other soloists, like Bejo. And no, Mrs. Tomasa is not a woman.
Talco, Los De Marras, Porretas, The Tyets, Kaos Urbano, Sínkope, El Niño de la Hipoteca, Me Fritos & the Gimme Cheetos, Figa Flawas and Blake are also among the artists confirmed at Viña Rock 2025; In none of them does a woman appear.
ToteKing, Juancho Marqués or Jarfaiter appear in the last lines of the Viña Rock 2025 poster, which is held from May 1 to 3 in Villarrobledo, Albacete. The festival promises more confirmations, although the absence of women in the trailer – which is generous in names – is obvious.
The lack of female names in the Viña Rock program has caught the attention of groups like Pipiolas, who in X wonder if this absence is due to “misogyny or an allergy to women.” Nerea Santotomás, from the band BRAVA, asks to play at the festival because the poster “is missing pussy.” And he added: «And stop telling me not to complain about the lack of female presence at festivals, because then they won’t hire me… DAMN GUYS, THEY’RE NOT HIRING US ANYMORE. “Neither to me nor to my companions.”
