The twelfth edition of MAZ Basauri arrives this weekend combining once again the paid concerts at the Social Antzokia with the free shows in the street.
The music will start on Friday, November 8 at Social Antozkia with concerts by the Catalans Dorianthe Madrid trio The Dove and the bizkaitarra Lova Lois, poet, singer-songwriter, rapper and winner of the main category of Rockein 2023, an award that has also resulted in the EP “Everything is signs” (2024). The big name of the free street music program on Saturday, November 9, will be the Madrid artist Nathan Simonswho recently published “Felines” (2024), an album-book in which she revisits her own and other people’s songs with other women. The 3 award-winning bands will complete the street music programming Rockin 2023: Sweet Rage (best local band), Gardena replacing at the last minute Islabat (best band in Basque), and Nun (Eskarabillera award).
On Saturday, at noon, Txiki MAZ will return with the concert of Castsuper rock band composed of musicians with extensive experience from Getxo, and the company’s performance Tramatrakawho will present his show “Matraka Culinary Center”. In addition, two renowned DJs from the Bilbao scene, Mugu and Mr. Chasethey will play music and give a small workshop for girls and boys. On Saturday night, music will return to Social Antzokia with concerts by the Gipuzkoan band Lisaböthe Catalan duo Cala Vento and the Getxo band led by Jokin Salaverria Sotomonte.
Finally, one of the new features of this twelfth edition of MAZ Basauri will be the inclusion of a third day on Sunday, November 10.
