Taylor Swift does refer to George Michael in ‘Father Figure’

This Friday, October 3, Taylor Swift’s new album, ‘The Life of A Showgirl’ is published. Its launch strategy has been different from the usual these days of 5 singles as progress: we have not heard the single to present the album, nor do we officially know anything about its sound.

The surprise strategy is not new for Taylor Swift. For example, ‘Cardigan’ launched as a single the same day as ‘folklore’. ‘Anti-Hero’ launched as a single the same day as ‘Midnights’. And ‘Fortnight’ launched as a single on the same day of launch as ‘The tortured poet department’. That is, Taylor likes to sell the entire pack at the same time, and this time it will be the same.

The difference this time is that ‘The Life of A Showgirl’ seemed a return to pop with Max Martin and Shellback, which could have given more than a number 1 in singles to the artist. That pair of numbers 1 worldwide that has not been for a long time, if we do not count the revival of ‘cruel summer’. Why not having launched the single Isn’t the album as pop as we imagine it?

That is not Taylor’s strategy, and in recent times he has been more concentrated in promoting exclusive physical versions of his album, as usual. There have also appeared planks reference this era and their tour in different parts of the world. Certain planks have fragments of letters, and today Billboard can confirm that Taylor’s new theme ‘Father Figure’ will contain a reference to George Michael’s classic extracted from ‘Faith’ (1987). He had been speculating with the possibility for a while and finally he has been confirmed.

On the other hand, the movie ‘The Official Release Party of A Showgirl’ will be screened on October 3 in cinemas in more than 100 countries, including Spain. From that day the following, it is expected that the singer will go to the programs of Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, lately at Trump’s point; and in the United Kingdom, the Graham Norton program. The promo is well tied, it is only that it will take place in full after the exit of the album.

In any case, there are 5.5 million pre-saves in Spotify for the listening of the album, so that the mass success is, again, guaranteed.
