This Wednesday, Tanxugueiras experienced an attempted boycott before their concert in Palencia, which was held within the framework of the protests called by the PP and supported by Vox in support of Ceuta. It was a group of ultras with Spanish flags who forced the show to be delayed up to 40 minutes shouting “Pedro Sánchez resign”, “mayor resign” or “death to Galicia”.
Now, Aida Tarrío and Olaia and Sabela Maneiro have spoken about what happened in a video uploaded to social networks: «We are fine, we are calm. “It was a very unpleasant moment.” They began by thanking the Palencia public for ensuring that “that bad moment was put in the background” and continued talking about the dangers of violence: “We have to reflect, we have to turn our heads, since both verbal and physical violence leads nowhere and is very dangerous,” explains Olaia Maneiro.
Sabela recalls that “these debates are necessary”, but that the objective must be to seek “respect and affection more than hatred and insults.” On the other hand, Tarrío assures that “the world is getting quite dark” and that, even so, they will continue “carrying our language and our culture around the world with all the pride we feel for it.”
Finally, Tanxugueiras take the opportunity to send a message of support to all those artists who have found themselves in similar situations at some point, in addition to reassuring their fans. The Galician group does not plan to leave the stage: “As long as the moon shines, we will continue singing.”
