The new single of the project led by Kevin Parker, marks not only the record return of Tame Impala, but also the beginning of a new era: it is its first release under the Columbia Records label.
With clear influences of the Acid House of the late 80s, the theme moves away from the usual psychedelic landscapes of Tame Impala to enter a more direct proposal towards the dance floor. “End of Summer” is an electronic odyssey of seven minutes, with a progressive development that leads to a euphoric climax, driven by bubbling synthesizers, vibrant beats and a nostalgic, almost confessional tone.
The song is accompanied by a nine -minute video clip directed by Julian Klincewicz, a visual piece in divided screen format that amplifies the duality of the theme between introspection and catharsis. Tame Impala once again demonstrates its ability to reinvent itself without losing identity.
