Tame Impala announces ‘Deadbeat’, his postponor album

Five years after ‘The Slow Rush’, Kevin Parker is a father and Tame Impala is about to launch his fifth album. Hence, ‘Deadbeat’, available on October 17, exhibits the most personnel of the Australian discography.

After the Epopeya Techno of ‘End of Summer’, Parker returns to the alternative and psychedelic rock par excellence of Tame Impala with ‘Loser’. “I had to tell you, it’s now or never,” Parker sings in the first lines. Both this and the previous single will be part of ‘Deadbeat’, composed of 10 other songs.

According to the press release, the songs of the new album are built with “spontaneity” and “full of a revitalized energy by experimentation.” Although it is clear in ‘End of Summer’ and not so much in ‘Loser’, ‘Deadbeat’ is mainly inspired by the “Bush Doof” culture, the Australian raves per hintomasia.

‘Loser’ video has also made noise among Australian fans when starring Joe Keery, actor of ‘Stranger Things’ and artist under the name of Djo. The clip begins with the protagonist being abandoned by his girlfriend and proceeds to do everything that a real “loser” would do, such as stealing a lighter or collecting the clue of a girl who liked him.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3a4OQR-10m
