SZA has confirmed the release of ‘LANA’, which is actually the deluxe edition of ‘SOS’, for this Friday. He announced it with a teaser starring Ben Stiller doing a great lip sync of two of the new songs.
Following the release of her latest album in 2022, SZA has not been entirely clear with her intentions with the deluxe edition. At one point, it seemed like ‘LANA’ was a completely different album. Now we know that it is an extension of the previous one and that it is made up of “outtakes and some new songs,” according to the singer with Variety.
In December 2023, SZA revealed six different covers for the album, but the music has been put away in a drawer all year. Only one song from the new project has seen the light of day, ‘Saturn’.
We already knew, from a photograph of the artist herself on the project’s tracklist, that ‘Diamond Boy’, ‘Cry Baby’ or ‘Take You Down’ were some of the songs included. Now we can also add ‘Drive’, judging by Ben Stiller’s snippet.
