The Gernika quartet Superzippers will present his latest album in the coming weeks in cities such as Gasteiz, Madrid, Logroño, Gijón, Iruña, Zaragoza and Valencia “America Avenue”.
Superzippers They are back with their third album, published in November and recorded with Urtzi Iza, giving it a much more rock touch. “America Avenue“tells the story of a long-distance relationship, arranged chronologically throughout the ten cuts (32 minutes) that make up the album. With Bilbao and Madrid as the main settings, the distance between people and time management become the thematic pillars of a work that combines that central story with songs that address topics such as the need for sold outs or anxiety.
With his characteristic lyrical style – which mixes hesitation and irony with a few touches of seriousness and emotional charge -, Super zippers take a step further by opening the channel and placing the listener in a universe with a precise time and place, but giving room for each person to live the story in their own way.
On a musical level, the band opts for a more raw and aggressive sound compared to their previous works, under the production of Urtzi Iza (OCD, Ezezez, Txopet…). This new direction, which at first seemed to move away from the more poppy side of the group, has ended up fitting perfectly, showing the drive, the feeling and the bad temper that the songs asked for.
