Although Bob Mold has performed the songs of “Copper Blue” on some occasions with his current musicians (Jason Narducy –Verbow, Sunny Day Real Estateetc. – and Jon Wurster -Superchunk, The Mountain Goats…), including the celebration of thirty years of its launch in 2022, right now it has been confirmed on networks that there will be new material from the group with its original lineup and also several dates in the United States and London.
Sugar were active between February 1992 and January 1995, leaving a brief legacy but one that had a lot of impact on the indie rock scene with “Copper Blue”the mini-EP “Beaster” and a second long one called “File Under Easy Listening”. In addition to Bob Mold, the group included bassist David Barbe and the drummer Malcolm Travis. The news initially arose because a new public Instagram @sugarcopperblue has been created on which some short videos without text have been posted. Bob Mold is a legend of American punk rock and independent rock, first as a staple of Hüsker Dülater as leader of Sugar and later with an extensive solo career with several indispensable albums.
