That “Carrie & Lowell” of Sufjan Stevens It is a peak of independent music in recent years is something we already knew. But the surprise is that ten years have passed since their publication.
To celebrate the ten years of “Carrie & Lowell”one of the fundamental works of Sufjan Stevens, Asthmatic Kitty Records – the seal of which the artist himself is co -owner – will launch a special edition the May 30. It will be a double vinyl – or double compact album – that will combine the original album with up to forty minutes of extras.
The Deluxe edition of the album will contain the original album, a forty pages book (with drawings, photographs, etc.), an essay written by Stevens himself and seven unpublished songs as extras on the second pack album.
As for those extras, we will meet the “Death With Dignity”, “Should Have Known Better”, “The Only Thing” and “Eugene”, as well as unpublished shots of the songs “Fourth of July” and “Walowa Lake Monster”. In addition, as an advance we will find the demo of “Mystery of Love”, a song that initially had to appear on the album but in the end it was included in a different version in the soundtrack of the film “Call me by your name” by Luca Guadagnino.
