The artist Steve Gunn just released a new EP titled “Shape of a Wave” and announces two dates in Barcelona (Barcelona city and Vic) to present it.
Steve Gunn released his seventh studio album “Daylight Daylight” last November. Aquarium Drunkard called it “an absolute masterpiece,” while MOJO described it as “remarkable,” adding, “(it remains) something spare, transitional, and restrained. Yet it is precisely that restraint that ultimately defines its brilliance.”
Now, Gunn releases a four-song companion EP. The work includes two new songs and two songs from “Daylight Daylight” remixed by Pete “Sonic Boom” Kember (of Spacemen 3).
About the fact that Kember remix your work, Gunn comments: “The music of Sonic Boom has been present in my life for a long time and has shaped the way I listen to and think about songs. Working with him feels like a profound moment, because his music has meant so much to me over the years. “I’m very grateful that he left his mark on these songs.”
The two new songs were recorded again with the producer and collaborator of “Daylight Daylight”, James Elkingtonwith sessions carried out both in the home studio of Gunn like at Nada Studios in Elkington. The full EP will be available both digitally and as a limited vinyl edition of 12.
Gunn will make a tour of europe during this month, with more summer dates to be announced soon. For now, the following dates are confirmed in Spain:
