Standstill present the graphic novel “Life and Work of a Puppeteer”

Enric Montefusco and the cartoonist Oriol Garcia Quera they sign “Life and work of a puppeteer”a graphic novel that will accompany the recording comeback of Stand still thirteen years after their last studio album.

The book, which Astiberri Ediciones will publish next May 28was born as an autonomous work but closely connected to the new album by the Barcelona band, scheduled for autumn 2026. More than a conventional biography, the comic presents a reflection on artistic creation, identity and the meaning of continuing to make music after silence.

According to Montefusco, the comic format allowed him to develop “a spiritual, surreal and timeless journey,” exploring universal themes from a symbolic and emotional narrative. The story revolves around the dissolution and subsequent return of Standstill, using images and situations close to myth and archetype.

The work also represents a unique crossover between music and graphic novel: while Standstill returns to the studio after more than a decade without publishing new material, “Life and work of a puppeteer” It functions as a conceptual extension of that new stage.

The volume will have 88 pages in cardboard and color, within the collection “Wing chair”and will have an official presentation in Barcelona on May 27 at the Aclam Clubtogether with Montefusco and Garcia Quera, moderated by Joan S. Luna. If you want to attend, you can find out more on Standstill’s social networks.

For Montefusco, the project also represents a new expansion of Standstill’s creative universe, a trajectory that had already explored concept albums, theater, audiovisual and exhibitions. Now, the group adds the language of comics to its artistic imagination.
