One of the most anticipated and outstanding novelties of that gigantic showcase of consumer electronics products that is the Berlin IFA competition, the VPL-VW320ES constitutes the update of the renowned Sony VPL-VW300ES video projector, the gateway of the Japanese brand to access the magic of very high definition (4K/UHD). Designed and built in Japan, the VPL-VW320ES is an attractive and refined image display device whose purity of lines and compact dimensions fit perfectly into any living space. Inside it houses a combination of exclusive Sony technical solutions to which the latest refinements have been added in terms of compatibility with copy protection protocols for 4K content. This means that the new Sony is fully compatible with HDCP 2.2 to guarantee perfect viewing of all types of very high definition movies and programs received both by streaming and from other sources that may appear in the future. On the other hand, the youngest of Sony’s 4K video projectors also includes a state-of-the-art radio frequency (RF) emitter to optimize the viewing of “Full HD 3D” content. As in the VPL-VW300ES, at the heart of the VPL-VW520ES we find three state-of-the-art SXRD matrices (0.74 inches diagonal) exclusive to Sony with native 4K resolution (unique in the field of consumer products) from 4,096×2,160 pixels each. To fully exploit the potential of this unique technology, the VPL-VW320ES incorporates refinements such as TRILUMINOS technology, which allows you to expand the color space – that is, the number of colors that the device is capable of reproducing – to a level comparable to that of the most demanding professional standards. To this we must add the more elaborate version of the Motionflow interpolation scheme, which allows scenes created from adjacent content to be mathematically calculated in order to make the most complex action images more fluid and ensure that the cadence of their movement through the screen has the required continuity. Also worth highlighting about the VPL-VW320ES is the sophisticated “Reality Creation 4K” scaling circuit exclusive to Sony, which allows you to increase the resolution of any video content up to the equivalent of 4K resolution. On the other hand, the combination of Sony’s Iris 3 technology and a new 225 W UHP lamp with 6,000 hours of useful life ensures a spectacular contrast ratio with all types of content and operating conditions while at the same time a luminosity of 1,500 ANSI lumens makes it easy to view in lightly lit rooms. The VPL-VW320ES also includes an automatic calibration system that allows key operating parameters to be optimized, while a high-precision optical block that combines a very favorable throw ratio with an adjustment range of +/-31% in the horizontal plane and +85%/-80% in the vertical plane means that the device can perform one hundred percent in a very wide repertoire of locations. In this sense, the availability of the new Sony with an exquisite white finish further contributes to its integration into all types of domestic spaces. Finally, let’s highlight a connectivity that ensures the compatibility of the VPL-320ES with the most advanced home automation systems of the moment (AMX, Control4, Crestron).

Entirely designed and built in Japan, the Sony VPL-VW520ES is a sophisticated 4K video projector device whose minimalist lines and compact dimensions allow it to fit perfectly into any home space. Inside it houses a combination of exclusive Sony technical solutions to which the latest refinements have been added in terms of maximizing dynamic range, expanding the color space and compatibility with copy protection protocols. Thus, the VPL-VW520 is fully compatible with the HDR (“High Dynamic Range”) concept, which allows extremely realistic reproduction of the purest whites and absolute blacks, a feature that drastically improves the viewing of cinematic content by preserving intact the dynamic contrasts of each recording. For its part, compatibility with the expanded color space associated with the BT.2020 specification means that the new Sony is able to fully exploit the potential of 4K resolution in terms of color restitution, significantly expanding the color palette that can be reproduced.

Regarding copy protection of 4K content, the Sony VPL-VW520ES is compatible with the HDCP 2.2 protocol to guarantee perfect viewing of all types of movies and programs received both by streaming and from other sources that may appear on the future. Another relevant novelty of the new Sony 4K video projector is a next-generation radio frequency (RF) emitter to optimize the viewing of “Full HD 3D” content. As in its predecessor, the celebrated VPL-VW500ES model, at the heart of the VPL-VW520ES we find three latest generation SXRD matrices (0.74 inches diagonal) exclusive to Sony with native 4K resolution (unique in the field of consumer products) of 4,096×2,160 pixels each. Likewise, the availability in an exquisite white finish further contributes to integration into all types of domestic spaces.
