Solidarity concert in favor of El Lokal

He next October 9 will be held a solidarity concert in favor of one of the most emblematic points of underground and countercultural Barcelona, The Local del Raval.

It will be a party and a celebration with the participation of Planet Grelo (or Jarbanzo Style), Little boy and Joan Garriga.

Lokal appeared in 1987 as much more than a store. Since its inception it has been a space in which underground and countercultural Barcelona has had a place to make itself known. There they have always been able to find recordings, fanzines and other key elements to nourish your desire for knowledge and ears to listen to you when necessary. A space that, through self-management, has remained active for decades.

Before the summer, it appeared in the general media that the owners of the building were going to force El Lokal to leave. Thanks to a crowdfunding campaign (in which more than four hundred people, groups and groups have participated) it has been possible to pay the down payment to buy the premises, but now it remains to maintain the payment of a mortgage and undertake some necessary renovations. In order to move forward with it, the October 9 will be held at the Paral lel room 62 a solidarity concert that will feature the participation (also in solidarity) of Joan Garriga and Muchachitoas well as Planet Grelo (or Jarbanzo Style). There will also be the collaboration of the Antic Teatre of Barcelona.

It will be an ideal evening to demonstrate that it is possible to carry out self-managed proposals that contribute their important grain of sand to local culture. It will also be the celebration of the 37th anniversary of El Lokal. The proceeds will go towards the self-management of El Lokal, to help reduce the debt assumed with the purchase and to finance the reforms.

You can get the tickets (15 euros) physically at the Lokal itself (Calle de la Cera 1, local 4; Barcelona) or buy them at this same link.
