Saturday Night Live has spent the weekend celebrating its 50th anniversary with two great events. The first took place last Friday, February 14 in the City Music Hall in New York, and left outstanding performances of Cher, Robyn with Talking Heads or Nirvana with Post Malone in the role of vocalist. The video of this last performance has not been uploaded to YouTube.
The great performance of the night was starring Saturday Night Live Andy Samberg (his wife, Joanna Newsom, also went to the event). Samberg marked a fun medley in which both Lady Gaga and Bad Bunny and Pedro Pascal intervened, among others.
The second event took place on Saturday, February 15 and has been a 3 -hour special broadcast on television that has also had outstanding musical performances. Sabrina Carpenter and Paul Simon have sung a song by Simon & Garfunkel, while Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard have versed ‘Nothing compares 2 u’ by Sinéad O’Connor. In this way, Saturday Night Live has honored O’Connor, whose SNL appearance in 1992 is one of the most controversial in its history.
Another performance of the SNL50: The Anniversary Special has starred in Paul McCartney recovering three songs from ‘Abbey Road’, the 1969 Beatles album. Among the special curiosities, the guitar song of actor Adam Sandler.
The viewing of the musical performances of Saturday Night Live has become a must for any pop fan, especially since YouTube rise immediately. Among the guests of the last season, Charli XCX, Bad Bunny or Chappell Roan.
