“(Rotten Apples) The Greatest Hits” of Smashing Pumpkins was released in 2001, a year in which not all releases were released on vinyl. The pnext August 9th will be published in this format for the first time in its history, and in different versions.
“(Rotten Apples) The Greatest Hits” At the time of its release in 2001, it summed up the first decade of the American band Smashing Pumpkins’ career. It contained some of their greatest hits such as “Today,” “Bullet With Butterfly Wings,” “Cherub Rock,” “1979,” “Ava Adore” and others. It will now be released in double black 180-gram vinyl and a limited edition double color vinyl for collectors. The release will also include “Eye,” the song that Billy Corgan’s band included in the soundtrack of the film “Lost Highway” by David Lynch and the song “untitled”, which was the last one they recorded Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin on their seventeen-year hiatus until their reunion in 2018 and which had never appeared on any vinyl format.
On the other hand, let us remember that Smashing Pumpkins will be performing a good part of these hits in their upcoming concerts in Spain that will take place in Madrid (July 10, Mad Cool) and Barcelona (July 13, Cruïlla Festival). Let us remember that the current formation with which Corgan will visit us includes the guitarist Kiki Wongthe bassist Jack Bates and the guitarist and keyboard player Katie Cole.
