Sinéad O’Connor died of natural causes

Sinéad O’Connor died aged 56 last July. The Irish music legend was found unconscious in the London home where she lived and police reported her death shortly after.

«It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Sinéad. “Her family and friends are devastated and we ask for respect for our privacy at this very difficult time,” she said at the time. There was no confirmation about the causes of her death, as that was in the hands of the autopsy, the results of which could “take several weeks.”

Since that moment, nothing more has been known until today: the coroner has spoken about the artist’s death, reporting that her death was due to “natural causes” and that, therefore, the investigation is closed.

Anecdotally, one of Sinéad O’Connor’s last posts on social media was to talk about the new album she was preparing: «I will soon finish my album. It will be released early next year. I hope to do concerts in Australia and New Zealand at the end of 2024. Europe, the United States and other territories at the beginning of 2025.
