Sharon van Etten announces new band and album

Sharon van Etten has announced a new album, a work that will be published eponymously in the company of her new band, The Attachment Theory. The album will go on sale on February 7 through Jagjaguwar.

Sharon van Etten & The Attachment Theory has recorded their album – which is considered their debut – based on improvisation. The author of ‘We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong’ has been joined by Jorge Balbi on percussion, Devra Hoff on bass and Teeny Lieberson on various instruments. Marta Salogni, known for her work with Depeche Mode, Björk and Bon Iver, produced the feature.

‘Afterlife’, the first preview, makes use of electronic beats, but also more typical pop-rock band instruments such as guitars and drums to build a dense wall of sound. It is one of the new features that you can hear now on the “Ready for the Weekend” playlist.

Sharon Van Etten & the Attachment’s album will be presented in Europe, although at the moment there are no dates announced in Spain. The opening act will be Nabihah Iqbal, who you probably know from her 2023 single ‘The World Couldn’t See Us’:
