Selena’s family fights over the singer’s assets

Selena Quintanilla is in the news today for two reasons: her presence in the 20th anniversary reissue of ‘B’DAY’, as a key piece of the new version of ‘Irremplazable’; and for the legal battle that his family has begun months after the death of Abraham Quintanilla, the family’s patron.

AB Quintanilla, Selena’s brother, claimed to have started legal proceedings against his sister Suzette. He accuses her of alleged irregularities with her financial duties and swears that “I never imagined that the day would come when I would have to face a situation like this.” Although the dispute began months ago, Quintanilla remains surprised: “There are things that I have discovered and experienced during this process that have left me deeply impacted.”

Suzette, on the other hand, denies having received a lawsuit from her brother, as well as any connection with a theft of her sister’s estate: “She has not stolen, embezzled or improperly taken any money or property belonging to AB, Abraham, Marcella, Chris, Selena’s estate or any family or jointly owned business,” can be read in a statement signed with her mother Marcella Quintanilla.

Although both AB and Suzette Quintanilla were important in Selena’s rise to fame, also always staying united when talking about her sister, the relationship has been seriously fractured in recent months.
