The new edition of the DalecandELA Fest presents three days full of music and activities in the Old Port of Getxo between September 20 and 22.
On the weekend of September 20, 21 and 22, the old port of Getxo (Bizkaia) will become a solidarity stage thanks to the third edition of the DalecandELA Festan event for all audiences, with free entry, which, in addition to music, will combine artistic and sporting activities. After the success of its second edition in September last year, the non-profit association DalecandELA will once again transform the Old Port into a unique stage where the main objective will be to raise awareness of ALS and raise funds for research in search of a cure and support for those who suffer from it.
The musical programme will feature around twenty performances spread over three days, who will take to the stage to play their songs: from state bands of the stature of Burning, Tarque & The Riff Associationeither Santero & The Boysand international ones such as Luke Winslow King, Cordovas either Hanging Starsto a great representation of quality pop-rock bands from Uribe Kosta like McEnroe, Smile, Still River, Basurita either The Armsamong many others.
In addition to the music, there will be a large number of artistic and sporting activities, such as the solidarity swimming challenge “Travesía OCCIDENT por la ELA”, the Yoga Workshop, also sponsored by OCCIDENT; and a participatory day of Herri Kirolak for boys and girls from 6 to 14 years old where an exhibition of different disciplines of this sport will take place. Children’s activities will take place on Saturday with Kids & Us, continuing on Sunday with the Magician Oliver and Liuba, awareness actions with the Sustainability Workshop by the company Sidenor and IDOM Consulting, Engineering and Architecture; which in line with its commitment to the environment, will join the waste collection efforts in the areas surrounding the festival on Saturday morning. The activity, which will be organized by Goazen Up, will be carried out both on land and sea using Paddleboards; and of course, the best gastronomy, all aimed at raising awareness of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and raising funds for research and support for patients.
With the help of Irisbond, there will be a Visual Battle using “eye-tracking” technology, a technique that facilitates communication and interaction with the environment of people who have lost their speech and mobility, such as those affected by ALS. DalecandELA Fest adds more solidarity activities to its program with the participation of the company Tamoin, a team of volunteers will provide support and assistance to patients and people with special needs who attend the festival. Likewise, DYA will offer first aid workshops on Saturday, the 21st, aimed at young people (TXIKIDYA First Aid for children) and also at adults (Teaching how to use a defibrillator and perform CPR, teaching how to perform the Heimlich maneuver (anti-choking).
