Next Saturday, October 11 phenomenon will celebrate the new edition of its festival in style with a poster headed by the performances of the Swedish musician Ebbot Lundberg and an impressive tribute band to Elliott Smith.
The Phenomena Kultur Elkartea Association commemorates this Saturday the tenth anniversary of its festival with a luxury line-up that, true to its spirit, combines local and international proposals. To celebrate the occasion, the organization has prepared its most ambitious edition to date, headed by none other than Ebbot Lundberg, a key figure in the Scandinavian scene and creative soul of two legendary groups: Union Carbide Productions and The Soundtrack of Our Lives. Your current project, Ebbot & The Solar Circus, It brings together an exceptional cast of musicians who have accompanied the artist at different stages, among them the renowned guitarist Billy Cervin, former member of The Indigo Children. Together they build an immersive show that traverses the different dimensions of Ebbot’s musical universe, reinterpreting his repertoire with a different approach in each performance.
The festival will also have the energy of The Guru Gurua Belgian band active since 2012 that plays a deep express art rock loaded with sharp guitars, unpredictable rhythms and a staging that is as intense as it is singular. The Italians join Black Rainbowsreferences of European psych-fuzz, with a sound that mixes the rawness of Black Sabbath and MC5 with the epicness of Led Zeppelin, sprinkled with influences such as Nebula or Fu Manchu. Closing the international part, the powerful duo Pinpilinpussieswhich unites Basque and Catalan roots, will bring its characteristic strength to the meeting.
The day will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a very special tribute to the American musician Elliott Smithwho died in 2003. State artists will meet on stage —Look at Tulsa, María Rodés, Dani Llamas and Flecha— along with Basque musicians like Joseba Irazoki, Miren Melenas and Galder Izagirre (DUT, Kuraia, Berri Txarrak…) to pay tribute to him by reinterpreting some of his most emblematic compositions.
The event will be held on Saturday, October 11, starting at 5 p.m. in Hondarribia (Gipuzkoa) and entry will be free. The performance schedules are as follows:
