Russian Red tells when Alex Turner “came in” to him

It seems that Russian Red has been saving some of the most curious stories of his life for the promotion of his new album, ‘Rojo Relative’, which he just presented live at the Café Berlin in Madrid. Some of these stories would fill an interesting autobiography.

This week, Lourdes Hernández said that years ago she was “obsessed” with Alex Turner and that she dreamed about him, and she has revealed that her greatest fantasy came true at the most inopportune moment, when the Arctic Monkeys leader tried to flirt with her in a bar in Los Angeles back in 2014 and she was no longer single.

In the Café y birras podcast, Hernández explains that he used to make his own movies with Alex Turner, fantasizing about a relationship. He says that, just when he started dating his partner and moved to Los Angeles, back around the time of ‘Agent Cooper’, he visited a bar in the city with some friends and met Turner, with whom he had an interesting interaction.

It was Turner who, according to Hernández, “came in” on the singer that night, when she was forced to pass in front of him because the friends she was with had changed places. Then, he told her the phrase: “Now you know what it feels like to lose what you used to have.” Hernández says that Turner asked him his name, introduced himself as Alex, and gave him a “fuck,” to his complete bewilderment, while he was dealing with a whirlwind of emotions.

Hernández, in a surreal way, nervously confronted him for having “appeared in her dreams”: “You have become the ultimate stranger and I need to put an end to this,” explaining that Turner was “very nice and very kind” to her despite her strange behavior.
