Rufus T. Firefly has premiered in the 180 degrees program of Virginia Díaz de Radio 3 ‘Song of Peace’, the first advance of his next studio album, ‘All good things’, which is put on sale in April. It will be the successor of the excellent ‘Largo Tour’ (2021).
‘Song of Peace’ has sounded a second time this morning in the Turbo 3 program, and in this space Víctor Cabezuelo has intervened on the phone to share details about his next project.
In the talk with Julio Ródenas Domercq, Víctor Cabezuelo says that ‘all good things’ is a kind of “great hits” by Rufus T. Firefly (this is described by a friend) but with “new songs.” He explains that, unintentionally, the group has come out of the “most rufus disk” of his career, which means that he is the most “varied.”
‘Song of Peace’ would not be “representative” of the album, but it serves as an ideal “presentation card.” As its title suggests, it is a piece full of calm that, on the one hand, flirts with the bossa pattern in its rhythmic section, but that maintains the concept of reverie keyboard melody that marked the style of the songs of ‘Largo Tour’.
In ‘Peace Song’, Cabezuelo exposes an inner struggle, probably related to his career, although the text is ambiguous enough to be interpreted in different ways. In the letter, Cabezuelo says that he has fought, but that he is already fed up, he asks “what’s beyond”, and meditate on his legacy: “When time passes, who is going to remember?”
For the presentation of ‘All good things’, Rufus T. Firefly has devised an original concert tour “with headphones.” In each concert, the attendees will be facilitated a set of loss of diadema. This is the dates:
